step 4: once the game starts, press ‘5’ on your keyboard (the one above your regular keys, not the one on the numpad) to activate the ‘coin trigger’ and then press ‘1’ (again, not on the numpad) to start ‘player one’ game. (note: these can be both remapped through the MAME settings tab, where you can also find mapping for the second player controls).

WWF WrestleFest is the sequel to the 1989 arcade game WWF SuperStars and is based on the World Wrestling Federation allowing you to control famous wrestlers from the late 80s like Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior and Earthquake. Whereas SuperStars only let you compete in Tag-Team, WrestleFest allows you to compete in the Battle Royal: Royal Rumble as well as Saturday Nights Main Event: Tag Match.
Saturday Nights Main Event: Tag Match lets you choose two fighters from eight fighters or team Demolition. All the fighters signatures moves are included as well as punching, kicking and grappling. Each fighter has an energy bar which depletes the more you are hit or thrown. If you can reach your partner on the side of the ring you can swap at any time as well as use him in some moves. If you are thrown from the ring then you have 10 seconds to return or it is fight over. The main way to win though is to pin your opponent on his back for a count of three by the referee. As you attempt this his partner will enter the ring to stop this as well as yours entering to stop his partner. If you win the fight then you must defeat four more teams to be able to face Legion of Doom and become champions.
Battle Royal: Royal Rumble lets you choose one fighter from 10 and now you must fight on your own in the ring against five randomly selected fighters. To beat a man, once again you must pin him on his back for the count of three by the referee. You can also throw them out of the ring hoping they don't make it back under 10 seconds. If a man loses then he leaves the ring leaving the other fighters to keep fighting. The winner is the last man standing.
WWF WrestleFest is viewed from the side from above and part of the ring is shown. You can play on your own or with three other friends.
